Osteopath treatments in Hastings

Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of medical conditions. It works with the structure and function of the body and is based on the principle that the well-being of an individual depends on the skeleton, muscles, ligaments and connective tissues functioning smoothly together.

At Viva Movement we believe that for your body to work well, its structure must also work well. We work to restore your body to a state of balance, where possible without the use of drugs or surgery. As osteopaths we use touch, physical manipulation, stretching and massage to increase the mobility of joints, to relieve muscle tension, to enhance the blood and nerve supply to tissues, and to help your body’s own healing mechanisms. We may also provide advice on posture and exercise to aid recovery, promote health and prevent symptoms recurring.

Dry Needling Hastings

Medical acupuncture (also known as dry needling) is a type of acupuncture which uses needles to relax muscle tissues and to help them to release.

It differs from traditional Chinese medicine acupuncture in that it is not used to stimulate meridians or channels of energy. Instead it is used directly within a tight band of a muscle or muscle knot. The needle stimulates the muscle, which relaxes, reducing pain and providing relief.

We use medical acupuncture at no additional cost in conjunction with osteopathy to achieve the best results from your treatments. It is a very popular addition to treatments and it is widely used by health care practitioners.

The decision to offer you acupuncture is based on the assessment of your conditions, then with your consent acupuncture might be used. Some patients explicitly request acupuncture when they have found it very effective in the past.

Your appointment explained

When you come for a treatment at VivaMovement there are 5 stages to your first appointment:

Case History

We will go through a detailed case history to learn more about your pain and your previous medical history
